End of the Road for BMW M6

Industry News

So long and farewell to the M6.Yes, BMW has announced that it is planning on officially ending the production of both the M6 coupe and convertible. A favorite of American consumers, the M6 has enjoyed a measurable degree of success with a total of 3,528 of the hardtops, and 3,247 convertibles sold in the States. Its lose is sure to disappoint those who love it, but whenever BMW closes a door on a model, a replacement is usually on its way.

While a replacement may be on the way, it sure won't be one with a V10 under the hood. BMW is no longer planning to produce vehicles with V10s in any of its vehicles; instead it is opting for forced induction and eight cylinders. Until the M6 replacement is announced, we bid it farewell.
