Shortly after the Ferrari 458 Italia was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, English musician Eric Clapton commissioned a one-off version of the supercar to be fitted with a V12 engine to replace the stock V8. Renowned as a passionate Ferrari collector, Clapton apparently went to the Ferrari factory and requested a 458 to be built according to his personal specifications. Unfortunately, fitting a V12 could not be executed so the 4.5-liter V8 remained in the back of the car.

The exterior, however, was modified drastically. Certainly the iconic Ferrari 512 BB has been referenced, with a large lower grille, hood louvers and the rear mounted rear spoiler; while the interior seems to be relatively unchanged from that of the 458 Italia. The car was given the official name of SP12 EPC and the conversion set the singer-songwriter back a cool three million pounds. For reasons unknown, the one-off Ferrari creation is currently on display inside a glass box at HR Owen, a Ferrari dealership in London and automotive photographer L.Gilbertson and Michael P Sannwald were on hand to snap some pictures.
