EVCUP iRACER Ready to Electrify EcoVelocity

Auto Show

The upcoming all-green EVCUP event will provide host to the latest electric racer dubbed the iRACER.

The EVCUP is not your usual race track, but is the world's first racing series dedicated exclusively to zero-emission EV's. The iRACER, pictured here, gets ready to take on the upcoming EcoVelocity event in the UK with an electrical charge. The iRACER is a track focused, pure EV that is designed and engineered thoroughly as a racer and will take part in the EVCUP in California. The event also showcases the latest concepts and designs in the green technology world.

EcoVelocity takes place from September 8th to 11th at London's Battersea Power Station and will feature the latest EV's, including the iRACER. The EVCUP begins in the U.S. this November, with two race events in California. The first will be at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on November 26th and the second at Auto Club Speedway on December 17th before a full series launch in 2012. According to EcoVelocity Event Director, Giles Brown: "The EVCUP has already created an enormous stir in the world of motoring since its launch, and we are very pleased to welcome it at EcoVelocity to have EVCUP on board is extremely positive."

For now, the iRacer's builders have not released exact performance and technical details. All will be revealed at its official debut at the UK event.
