The Toyota Land Cruiser is a tough piece of Japanese off-road machinery that has found itself in some of the most treacherous regions of the world. From exploring the arctic to navigating minefields in Africa, the Land Cruiser has seen it all. It's little wonder why Canadian vehicle armor specialist Inkas loves to beef these big boys up. In a video shared by the company, we get to see a new Land Cruiser, fitted with Inkas armor, take on a hail of bullets, a few hand grenades, and even some TNT as part of the stringent European VPAM certification program.

Inkas is no stranger to the world of armored luxury cars, and puts all of its cars, including the Mercedes S-Class and Bentley Bentayga, through various stringent test processes. The test shown in the video requires the Land Cruiser to withstand over 700 laser-guided shots from small arms and certain rifles, multiple grenade detonations, and a 33-pound TNT explosion. These extreme tests are done in order to simulate real world conditions in hostile environments.

To withstand this type of torture, Inkas starts off with a standard Land Cruiser in your choice of trim and engine configuration (a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with 400 horsepower, a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine with 271 hp, and a 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine with 302 hp). The company then fits engine bay armoring, protection for the battery and electronic control module, reinforced suspension, perimeter protection for the passenger compartment, reinforced door hinges and run flat tires.

This gives every Inkas Land Cruiser a CEN 1063 BR level seven armor rating which can withstand 7.62mm assault rifle blasts, and up to two DM51 hand grenade blasts. In the video, we clearly see the Land Cruiser getting a beating, but manages to maintain structural integrity of the passenger compartment. For those looking for an even safer ride, Inkas offers optional extras such as a heavy-duty braking system, fire suppression, heavy duty wheels, emergency lighting, and even a PA/Intercom system. If this video is to be believed, the Inkas-tuned Toyota Land Cruiser should last a lifetime.
