Before computers and high-tech transmissions were installed in supercars, it was mainly up to the driver to, well, drive. Obviously supercars today aren’t autonomous (yet), but less is required of drivers in terms of skill and ability. Perhaps it was in the 1980s when the last big hurrah of analog supercar and sports car awesomeness existed. Beginning in the 90s, computers became more common and today they literally control much of the car. But not these 80s gems. No, for each of these it was all about car and driver and nothing else.
