The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been a resounding success. Despite concerns from purists, the electric crossover has turned out to be a remarkably popular vehicle, and although it does have some serious faults, Ford is continually looking to make it better. According to recent reports, the 2022 year model will arrive with bigger batteries and more range, which nobody will complain about, but what else can we expect? Well, Ford has graciously outlined the updates for its entire model range, and the changes for the Mach-E all look to be good. Let's take a look at some of the highlights as the first ground-up EV from Ford enters its second year.

As previously announced, Ford will be offering a new Ice White appearance package which will offer Star White Metallic Tri-Coat paint, Star White wing mirror covers, Star White, wheel lip moldings, and unique Oxford White pony badges. These will match with 19-inch wheels boasting a machined face with Oxford White-painted pockets. Inside, the package adds a gloss white dashboard insert and another Oxford White pony badge for the steering wheel while the door armrests, dual center armrest, and seats are finished in Light Space Gray. This new package will be available to buyers of the Premium trim.

For those who prefer the California Route 1 trim, there are updates too. This model will gain the option of all-wheel drive, while standard additions include heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Certain models now have the option of 19-inch wheels painted in a Shadow Silver finish with high-gloss black-painted aero covers, while black paint is now standard for the roof when you order a GT or GT Performance Edition. Another change for 2022 is that the front trunk is now called the frunk. Ford has also changed the name of the Reverse Sensing System to Rear Parking Sensors, just in case you didn't know what the system does. Lane Centering has also been renamed and is now called Lane Centering Assist.

Finally, the 2022 Mustang Mach-E gains new colors across the lineup: Iced Blue Silver Metallic, Cyber Orange, and Grabber Blue.

The aforementioned larger batteries have not been confirmed, but it is possible these updates may be announced at a later date.
