As news of the upcoming 2011 Explorer are being released, the current 4X4 Explorer continues on untouched since 2009. While it does have numerous luxury features, the Explorer 4X4 is considered an ancient vehicle. With its body-on-frame construction, the Explorer has a rough ride and poor fuel economy, averaging only 15 mpg. An optional 4.6 liter V8 is also available with 292 horsepower.

A third-row seat is also available as an option. Electronic stability control and side curtain airbags are standard. While you may find a good deal on one at the moment, its best to wait for the new model to be released late in 2010.
