Nissan has given the upcoming 2012 Maxima sedan some minor cosmetic enhancements. The facelift tweaks include an updated front grille design, restyled rear combination lights, new 18- and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and the addition of two new exterior colors called Dark Slate and Java Metallic. Under the hood, the revised Maxima will continue to generate power from a 3.5-liter V6 engine cranking out 290 hp and is mated to a Nissan Xtronic CVT transmission.

The interior remains the same with the exception of a new audio segment display/HVAC knob design and the introduction of Dark Piano hairline trim, Atlantic Cherry wood tone trim, Café Latte interior color and Metallic finish trim. A new Limited Edition package also includes smoked HID Xenon headlights, a compass in the rearview mirror, a new rear spoiler and a dark satin chrome front grille. Also included are fog lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, metallic trim, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels in a Dark Hyper Silver finish. The package's price tag costs $750.

The Nissan Maxima is offered in two trim levels for 2012, the S and the SV with no change in base price from last year, remaining at $31,750 and $34,450, respectively. The previously mentioned Limited Edition Package is for the S Model.
