The 2012 Toyota Tacoma has received some cosmetic changes, which include a new grille, fog lamps, headlights, and bumpers. The facelift focuses primarily on the front end of the popular truck. The Tacoma will be available in two new colors, Nautical Blue Metallic and Spruce Mica. The TRD Sport package is now offered with side mirrors that have integrated turn signal lamps and optional 18-inch chrome five-spoke wheels.

There are more significant updates to the interior, including a redesigned instrument panel with a new gauge cluster, a new center stack with updated HVAC controls and a new steering wheel on some models. Other new options include heavy duty all-weather flooring on Access Cab and Double Cab models, waterproof fabric on some trims, and new standard and optional stereos. Under the hood, the base 2.7-liter four-cylinder produces the same 159hp and 180lb-ft of torque output as the 2011 Tacoma model. The 4.0-liter V6 version will also share the same output as the previous generation, which is 236hp and 266lb-ft of torque.
