Ferrari F40 Totaled by the Teutons in Southern Germany

An 80-year old Ferrari owner destroyed his F40 supercar near his home in southern Germany.

Seen in the South of Germany, this Ferrari F40 supercar was seriously damaged when the driver lost control of the car on a road near his home. The F40 had only 6,200 miles on its odometer when its owner, an 80-year old businessman from Stuttgart, couldn't handle the twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V8-powered Prancing Horse as it skipped off the side of the road. We don't know if the Ferrari will be able to be fixed, as the estimated damage caused by the accident is around $340,000.

A new Ferrari F40 was worth $400,000 when it was produced from 1987-1992. Only 1,315 units were built by the Italian automaker during that five-year time span. Fortunately, everyone was ok after the crash... except the man's pride.
