The maintenance costs for the average supercar are often just as brutal as the initial purchase price. Take, for example, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. It will cost you nearly $25,000 for a fluid change that needs to take place every 10,000 miles or 14 months. Of course, that's less of a problem for someone who can afford that car's $3.6-million price in the first place. But even the well-heeled want the peace of mind that comes with good warranty and service plans. Ferrari realizes this and has now introduced LaFerrari Power, an extended warranty and maintenance service for owners of the LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta.

For some context, the LaFerrari and its drop-top Aperta sibling were prohibitively expensive when you could buy them new, with the former costing around $1.5 million and the latter going for over $2 million. The last Aperta sold for nearly $10 million. Ferrari says that it's the first time it is offering an extended warranty and service plan for these limited-edition supercars.

"The LaFerrari Power service is for customers who want to maintain the performance and excellence of the company's first-ever hybrid car," said Ferrari in a statement. LaFerrari Power is a two-year renewable program that applies to all models regardless of their model year.

Owners who opt for LaFerrari Power will also receive an extension of the factory warranty which covers the HY-KERS hybrid system and the high-voltage battery. As part of the new service, LaFerrari models will receive annual scheduled maintenance checks from Maranello-trained technicians.

Ferrari says that LaFerrari Power is evidence of the company's belief in the quality and reliability of even these extreme models. With up to 950 horsepower, a carbon-fiber tub, and extremely limited production, it figures that the LaFerrari and the LaFerrari Aperta are worth maintaining as meticulously as possible. No price was given for LaFerrari Power but the service can be activated at any official Ferrari dealer.
