Who's up for a hardcore V12?
We recently revealed that Ferrari is in the midst of refreshing the F12 Berlinetta, but reports are now suggesting the Italian carmaker could be ready to unveil the facelifted model as early as this September in Frankfurt. Tentatively dubbed the F12 GTO, the "new model" will use the same 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 as the standard F12, but with power upped from 730 to 800 hp. We'd like to think the hardcore version of the F12 will continue to be free breathing.
However, there's a suggestion hybrid tech from the LaFerrari could be utilized to achieve the additional 70 or so horses. More power will be coupled with less weight, as around 100 kg is expected to be stripped off the GTO, which will also boast new bodywork and be limited to just 650 units. No doubt these have already all been accounted for.
