Perhaps more than any other automaker or global brand, Ferrari is obsessed with controlling its image. Top Gear host Chris Harris touched upon this very issue back in 2011. You'll see where we're going with this in a moment. Anyway, professional drifter Ryan Tuerck has a new project, and it's going to be ridiculously awesome. He's building a JDM Supercar, appropriately called (for now) the 4586. That's right. With the support of Gumout, a 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 458 is being stuffed into the heavily modified engine bay of a Toyota 86.

But really, this is much, much more than just a V8 transplant; the Toyota sports coupe is essentially being completely reengineered. Project completion is due in October. So, why won't Ferrari like this? Because it can't control what Tuerck and crew are doing with its engine.
