Ferrari prepping turbocharged 458 in time for Geneva 2015.
Ferrari won't tell you it's refreshing the 458 Italia. The Italian carmaker will insist the M458-T – as it's rumored to be called – is a new model. Semantics aside, the latest Prancing Horse will be the second model in as many years to feature a turbocharged powerplant. Specifically, a reworked version of the California T's 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 boosted to deliver 670 horsepower. Spied testing in the sunshine, the refreshed 458 is wearing camo that looks to be hiding new side air intakes.
Out the back the triple exhaust arrangement on the 458 is being dropped in favor of a twin-exhaust setup, while the refreshed Italia will receive other significant design changes to accommodate the turbochargers, as well as new intercoolers, improved braking system, restyled bumpers, LED lights and enhanced aerodynamics. The M458-T will come fitted with a Harman-Kardon infotainment system as per the Cali T, in addition to a reversing camera, and is set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
