The third Tailor Made configuration may be the wildest yet.
For the past ten years, Ferrari has been hosting an annual rally in Italy. Open to only the uppermost echelon of Ferrari's customer base, this epic road trip features some of the rarest and most beautiful Ferraris ever made. It's called the Cavalcade and 2021 saw the tenth edition of the event take place. To celebrate, Maranello has been revealing bespoke configurations that can be accessed through the Tailor Made program. We recently covered the first two designs, and now the third of five has been revealed.
Interestingly, despite the Cavalcade taking place exclusively in Ferrari's homeland, every configuration thus far has featured the Stars & Stripes.
The first two configurations were revealed with no mention made of availability. We saw that the digital renders of these configurations were applied to the 812 Competizione and then the SF90 Stradale, so obviously, these two models are eligible. In the latest Facebook post, Ferrari says that these new styling themes are available for just five models, namely the coupe and Spider versions of the aforementioned SF90 and 812 Competizione, as well as the coupe-only (for now, at least) Ferrari 296 GTB. Each of these vehicles is special in its own way, with the SF90 pair offering turbocharged V8 hybrid technology, the 812 Competizione twins a naturally aspirated V12, and the 296 a hybridized V6.
Hopefully, some wealthy Ferrari buyers will be keen on opting for these special finishes; we'd really love to see them in the metal because, while the descriptions of these configurations use rich language, the digital renders certainly won't capture the true effects of each paint option. For example, this new spec is called Verde Volterra and is described as an iridescent color that "draws its inspiration from the Cavalcade's 2013 destination in Tuscany, [recalling] the countryside's deep greens and earthy tones." Color-shifting paint is always stunning, and Ferrari is sure to make it pop even more than normal. With some luck, we may see some of these amazing hues on the lawns of Pebble Beach or Goodwood this year.
