We think it looks awesome.
It will likely be a few more years until the Ferrari LaFerrari is replaced with another flagship hypercar. LaFerrari and the Enzo were separated by around a decade, meaning we could see another Ferrari hypercar as soon as 2022. But what would such a car look like? Many rendering artists have taken a crack at designing a futuristic Ferrari hypercar but we think this latest effort by Polish designer Pawel Breshke Czyzewski deserves some attention.
Czyzewski calls his creation the Ferrari F42. The rendering clearly has no official connection to the Ferrari brand but we like a lot of the elements shown on this creation. It is certainly more aggressive than the average Ferrari design and looks more like it could be a one-off Lamborghini concept.
The F42 bears very little resemblance to the original F40 on which it pays homage but some elements, like the massive rear wing, do show a hint of familial resemblance. We'd say the design looks most like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale but even that comparison feels like a bit of a stretch. The F42 oozes futurism from every angle including thin LED headlights, extreme aero, and even a camera to make up for barely having a rear window.
Czyzewski showed his creation in a variety of colors including white, traditional Ferrari red, and a bright shade of yellow (our personal favorite). The car even wears a unique 'F42' emblem that was designed to mimic the original F40 badge. The badges and accent colors even change depending on the paint color.
No details about a potential powertrain were provided with the rendering, but we could envision the F42 using a similar drivetrain as the SF90. This would mean a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 combined with two electric motors to produce 986 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. But since this a replacement for LaFerrari, we'd like to see that V8 replaced with a twin-turbo V12, bumping the power well above 1,000 hp.
