Fiat has launched a new limited edition of the 500 created specifically for the Chinese market. The 500 First Edition will be assembled by the Chrysler Group plant in Toluca, Mexico and is based off the 500 Lounge. It comes equipped with a 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a manual transmission that produces an output of 101hp and 99 lb-ft of torque. The exterior features unique graphics of various dragons on the doors to truly give the Fiat First Edition an Oriental vibe.

Aimed primarily at the younger generation of buyers in China, the Italian automaker plans to debut the 500c Convertible and a series of special editions which will be known as the 500 by Gucci. The 500c first made its debut at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and the 500 by Gucci gives the younger fashion-driven generation a unique vibe based on European trends. Both the 500c and the 500 by Gucci are set to hit the market next year in China if the First Edition is successful. The Fiat 500 First Edition will be limited in production to just 100 units and orders will begin this month and will last until mid-September.
