In an interesting piece of PR news from Fiat, the Italian automaker has decided to help out New York City in its quest to plant a million new trees across its five boroughs over the next decade. Called the MillionTreesNYC initiative, Fiat hopes to contribute to the restoration project in an artistic sort of way. They have not only contributed 12-foot pear trees, but have also planted them in eight mock-up 500s. The cars are currently parked along Canal Street and the Avenue of Americas.
They won't be there permanently and the trees will eventually be taken out and moved to a different location. So far, Fiat is the only automaker to be involved in the project.
