A used-car dealership being used as a set for a new HBO miniseries has gone up in flames in Ellenville, New York. Sadly, this wasn't just any used-car dealership, but rather one that housed dozens of 1990s era Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes.

The cars, however, did not appear to be for sale but are owned by individuals who rented them to Automobile Magazine New York bureau chief Jamie Kitman, who also owns a film-car company. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire but all of the vehicles, as you can see, have been incinerated. Local news outlets estimate over 50 vehicles were destroyed.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the vehicles were being used for the upcoming six-part miniseries called "I Know This Much Is True," starring Mark Ruffalo and based on a novel telling the story of two brothers in the 1990s, one of whom suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. The series was being filmed in the town's public roads for a few days last week. "There's nothing left," said Chris Busby, general manager at 613 Automotive to the Poughkeepsie Journal. "It's a huge loss for us and HBO. They are just as heartbroken over this as we are."

The fire reportedly started in the building's showroom and it also destroyed camera and film equipment. Investigators are still working to determine the fire's cause and why it spread so quickly. The included video shows the painful devastation all too well. Aside from no injuries or fatalities, the other good news is that all of the owners are insured by the production company.
