After some exterior spy shots of the upcoming Mercedes GLK, it's nice to finally get to see what the interior will look like. These exclusive images reveal that the compact crossover's cabin shares plenty of style cues with the car on which it's based, the C-Class, whose interior was also recently revealed. Prominent in the interior images is the freestanding screen controlled by the new COMAND infotainment device on the center console.

The touchpad accepts finger-written characters and smartphone-like commands, while the GLK will almost certainly come with plenty of cutting-edge driver-assist technologies found in the new S-Class. Still in the early stages of development, the new GLK will be longer and wider than the current model with improved dynamics, a roomier interior and similar engines to the C-Class including a new 1.8-liter turbo-four. An AMG variant to tackle the Audi SQ5 and upcoming M variant of the BMW X3 SUV is also a distinct possibility.
