These spy shots afford us the first look at the all-new 2015 Audi TT Roadster, caught here performance testing at the Nurburgring. The drop-top variant of the third-gen TT was spied wearing a soft-top low-profile black fabric roof, which will fold away behind the cockpit and sit flush in front of the boot lid. With a more prominent back end than the coupe, the Roadster sports a broad rear glass section for improved visibility and a slimline pop-up spoiler for added downforce.

The new model will be substantially lighter than the second-gen TT convertible, while powerplants will carry over from the standard TT line, including a 184-hp 2.0-liter turbodiesel and a pair of 2.0-liter TSI turbo-four units rated at 230 hp and 310 hp, respectively. Expect the new Audi TT Roadster to arrive sometime next year.
