Fisker EMotion Owners Won't Have To Lift A Finger To Service Their Cars


Everything will be taken care of courtesy of a special concierge service.

It looks stunning, comes packing disruptive battery tech enabling a 400-mile range and now Fisker has revealed yet another way its latest creation – the EMotion – will trump the EV competition. The Californian carmaker has announced a partnership with The Hybrid Shop that will see more than 300 dedicated EV and hybrid service centers established across the US and the rest of the world by 2019. Fisker EMotion owners will also receive a "white glove concierge service" whereby vehicles will be collected and returned without inconveniencing the owner.

Using smart devices and smart codes, the keyless EMotion can be picked up, taken away for warranty work and maintenance, and returned without the owner being present. Currently, there are 36 service centers dotted around the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. For non-over the air service and updates, the growing network will soon have technicians with Fisker factory training that can take on electric powertrain repairs, battery-related tasks and body work. As part of the new venture, Fisker Karma owners will also be offered a free "health check" with maintenance and repairs support.

Fisker told CarBuzz last year that the EMotion will come with optional level 5 autonomous capabilities, with the necessary tech sourced from the likes of Mobileye, which was recently acquired by Intel. The new EMotion will be unveiled in August, when price and production timing will be announced. A second, smaller model is also in the pipeline to battle the Tesla Model 3. In the meantime, Henrik Fisker will reveal the VLF Force 1 Roadster next month at the Auto Shanghai 2017.
