When you consider how quickly smartphones have been evolving, it's almost comical how far behind automotive infotainment systems remain, especially the ones that sync to smartphones or offer the same kinds of functions. Many of them are entirely too complicated, and no small number have terrible touchscreens, but Ford claims to have finally cracked it with the just-announced SYNC 3, which is described as "more smartphone-like."

This is good news, because it's very much what we've come to expect, no matter how often it doesn't work out like that.
