According to inside sources, Ford will show a compact-sized sports coupe concept that will possibly be based on the platform architecture of the new Focus at next month's Frankfurt Auto Show. The concept will supposedly give an indication of a future coupe for the brand, but it will also provide a glimpse into the evolving design language that we will see in upcoming generations of Ford models. In addition to the coupe concept, Ford has already said it will unveil "details of the next Focus performance car".

So far, all indications of this mystery car points to the new Focus ST. However, there will be two more production debuts, one of which will likely be the Kuga replacement, the Vertrek. The rendering pictured here of the 2013 Ford Focus Coupe Design Study created by independent designer David Cardoso is exactly what it is: an independent rendering. It does use Ford's current design language along with the direction the artist predicts they'll be taking in the next few years. Photos displayed are of the Ford Focus Coupe Design by David Cardoso
