Much lauded and immensely popular, it seems American consumers can't get enough of the Ford Bronco. With its retro design and superb off-roading skills, the compact SUV is highly sought after. It hasn't been an entirely smooth process for Ford, though. The sixth-generation Bronco has been plagued with several issues, the most common being the Webasto-supplied hardtop.

Following exposure to harsh weather conditions, some examples exhibited unusual wear. While Ford has raced to remedy the situation, replacing affected roofs at no charge (and sourcing new examples for new vehicles) many customers elected to switch to a soft-top in order to get their Bronco on time.

Aftermarket company Advanced Fiberglass Concepts is now developing a hard-top alternative for Bronco drivers. As the company works toward a final product, it's been giving Instagram users a sneak peek of its latest development. It appears two versions will be offered, both featuring a sloping rear window.

The pair differ in their design. One is a modular design much like the factory hardtop whereas the other is a one-piece design. The company notes the modular design will use fewer components than the factory-supplied roof in order to provide customers with superior fit and finish and a lower chance of leaking. Both tops can be supplied in the following finishes: White UV textured, Black UV textured, and, for those wanting to paint match, a primer finish.

While the exact weight of the roof rack compatible item is yet to be disclosed, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts notes the mass is close to that of the factory item. What's more, all the necessary equipment - windows, rear struts, and hinges - are included. Setting up the rear wiper, washer fluid nozzle and rear window defroster shouldn't be a hardship either, with the aforementioned accessories being plug and play. Sound deadening is a worthwhile option.

Currently, the company only plans to focus on four-door Broncos, noting that, if there's enough interest, the development of a two-door Bronco rooftop may commence. For now, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts have made no mention of potential pricing but, judging on the numerous comments from the Bronco community, it's sure to be a hit with owners of the off-roader.
