Ford Bronco Transformed Into 700-HP Fastback Off-Roader

Tuning / Comments

Ford wouldn't build it so these guys did.

As the name would suggest, South Florida Jeeps (SoFlo Jeeps) is best known for customizing Jeeps. Earlier this year, we were impressed with the tuner's six-wheeled, Corvette-powered Jeep Gladiator, easily one of its craziest projects yet. In a somewhat surprising move, SoFlo Jeeps has now created a new take on the Jeep Wrangler's chief rival: the Ford Bronco. Since the availability of Ford's new off-roader is so limited, this is one of the first Broncos we've seen get the aftermarket tuning treatment.

Say hello to the SoFlo Stallion. The modifications begin with a lift kit that increases the ride height by 3.5 inches, while a steering stabilizer makes the custom off-roader easier to control at high speed. Other upgrades include Fuel SJF 20-inch alloy bronze wheels wrapped in 37-inch Patagonia tires, which the tuner says are quiet and ideal for everyday driving.

At the front, the tuner has fitted a custom steel bumper finished in black Kevlar. Steel sidesteps have also been added, providing easier access to the cabin. Speaking of which, the interior features King Ranch marine-grade tan and dark brown leather covering the seats, armrest, and doors. According to SoFlo Jeeps, the interior is also weather-resistant for journeys in the rain or snow. Nice.

What makes this custom Bronco truly stand out from the crowd, however, is its fiberglass composite slantback top. If you already own a Ford Bronco, SoFlo Jeeps is also selling the fastback-style roof as a standalone upgrade. As for what lies under the hood, the custom off-roader is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote engine from the Mustang generating over 700 horsepower. This is a substantial power boost as the standard Ford Bronco produces 310 hp and 400 lb-ft from a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 in its range-topping guise.

"The market for the Ford Bronco is insatiable right now, these vehicles are nearly impossible to find, with hardly any aftermarket companies even attempting to enhance their looks and off-road capabilities, but that's what separates SoFlo Jeeps from everyone else," said Joseph "Joe" Ghattas, owner, engineer and head designer of SoFlo Jeeps.

"We take the impossible and make it possible. We have these SoFlo Stallion 4x4s in stock now and they are ready to ship. Our truck has bigger tires and rims and a more capable suspension that allows the driver to conquer all off-road obstacles while hitting 100 mph with comfort on the highway. Probably the most impressive part of our transformation has to be the slantback top. It's a brand-new item that we are offering and took months of research and development to produce, but after one glance, people just fall in love."
