The Expedition was introduced for the 1997 model year as Ford's large SUV offering. It's offered with an extended length option for increased space. Offered with Ford's Triton 5.4 liter V8 with 310 horsepower, it has immense towing capacities (up to 6,000 lbs) and countless other work duties. Even though some of the competition, such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Nissan Armada offer more power, the Expedition has a standard six-speed automatic, which helps to make up for this.
Safety features include standard electronic stability control, a roll-stability system, and three-row side curtain air bags. Gas mileage, as expected is low, bringing in only 13 mpg.
