Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Industry News

The Explorer Sport Trac is based off the previous generation Ford Explorer. A near identical clone, it offers the same choice of engines - a standard 4.0 liter 46 with 210 horsepower or an optional 4.6 liter V8 with 292 horsepower. A five-speed automatic is standard and a six-speed is optional. The Sport Trac is simply an extended length version of the Explorer with a small truck bed added on. It has proven to have average reliability and has generally been popular with outdoor sports enthusiasts.

As the Ford prepares an all-new Ford Explorer for 2011, the Sport Trac will be discontinued after model year 2010.
