Think of everything you may know about the current Ford Focus. Now throw it all out the window. Ford is in the process of producing the all-new 2012 model. What's so special about this one? Everything, in fact. It is based off a global powertrain, which means the Focus that you can buy in the United States is exactly the same one you can buy in Europe. It will come as either a sedan or a hatchback with a standard 2.0 liter four-cylinder producing 155 horsepower.
An optional EcoBoost four-cylinder will be an option. A six-speed dual-clutch transmission will be standard. The new Focus represents a huge step for Ford as it continues their "One Ford" business plan. Base price should be around $17,500. Competitors such as Chevrolet, Honda, and Toyota should be very worried.
