It's happening in Markham, Ontario, Canada, a special low-volume assembly facility where the all-new 2017 Ford GTs begin life. And Ford has just announced that it has completed the first production-spec version of its reborn 600 hp+ supercar. Raj Nair, Ford's executive vice president of global product development and chief technical officer, was on hand to mark the occasion by driving that new GT off the assembly line.

"When we kicked off 2016, we had two primary objectives for our Ford GT supercar – to excel at Le Mans, and to start deliveries before year-end. We achieved both," Nair announced. It's been just under two years since Ford shocked the world by revealing the GT at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and now the first of 1,000 lucky customers around the world will soon take delivery of their new pride and joy. Consider it to be the ultimate holiday present to oneself.
