It will undoubtedly be the most sought after Ford in years, and only the extremely wealthy will have the chance to buy one. The Ford GT is scheduled to arrive in the second half of next year, and production will be limited to about 250 examples. But how much will it cost? That's the burning question for many. Fortunately, Dave Pericak, director of Ford Performance, confirmed at Geneva last week the Ford GT will cost roughly the same as the Lamborghini Aventador, around $400,000.

Now, compared to the last Ford GT, which was built from 2004 to 2006, was priced at $150,000 with a total of 4,038 examples produced. The hand-built 2016 GT will feature a carbon fiber body and a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that'll produce at least 600 hp. Obviously halo cars, from any automaker, never come cheap and production is always limited, but Ford has really scaled back this time around. Compared to the previous GT, the 2016 model will be more of everything: rare, expensive, and ridiculously powerful.
