You'd think the Ford Fusion was really nothing more than a nice mid-size family sedan. That's true, of course, but the Fusion is also full of surprises. More specifically, the new 2017 Fusion Platinum, as we learned in our latest review, has made us question the need for the Lincoln MKZ to even exist. What's more, Ford has created something that's truly an alternative to the likes of the Lexus ES and the Buick LaCrosse. Yes, really.

Powered by the familiar 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four, the Fusion Platinum is at the higher spectrum of the Fusion lineup, but it comes packed with luxury features at what we think is a hell of a good price.

N/A

By no means is it a sports sedan, but the Fusion Platinum delivers communicative steering and decent acceleration. Inside and out, the car impressed us, too. And this is where Ford may have created some internal competition with its luxury brand Lincoln and its own MKZ. For a few thousand dollars less, the Fusion Platinum comes with many of the same features as the Lincoln. Has Ford elevated the Fusion to new heights? Is it the best mid-size sedan on the market? Check out our latest to review to find out more. Special thanks to Future Ford of Sacramento for letting us film the car.
