Ford Just Found A Way To Make The New GT Lighter and Sexier

What are those?!

We've known for some time now that Ford's insanely popular muscle car, the Shelby Mustang GT350R, could be ordered with carbon-fiber wheels. Now it's looking quite likely that the brand's ultimate halo car, the new GT, will also be receiving ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber wheels as well. These stunning new wheels are reportedly being produced in Australia by a firm aptly called "Carbon Revolution." Now offering awesome wheels on the GT seems like a no-brainer, right? Ford definitely wouldn't welch on such a good idea...

Speaking to Autoblog, Ford spokesperson Paul Seredynski said the decision to outfit the Ford GT with these beautiful rims hasn't been approved yet. But, if they were to be offered, it would probably be available as an option, not standard equipment. If you consider the fact that the GT350R's wheels from the same company only weigh 18 pounds each, it's hard to find a reason why the new GT wouldn't offer this equipment. If you were lucky enough to be able to get a chance to buy the new GT, would you check this box on the options list or pass? Considering the huge price tag on this supercar, should they come standard? Tell us in the comments section.
