Although nothing has been 100% confirmed, there have been a few rumors that Ford is set to debut a dramatic coupe concept of the 2012 Focus at the upcoming 2011 Detroit Auto Show. The concept will reportedly take styling cues from the famed Focus ST, which should give the car a true performance appearance. Under the hood, it's likely that Ford will drop in their powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 247 hp.

It will also have a wider stance in order to give it a lower and more dramatic appearance. If this happens, then expect for the car to go from 0-60 mph in the neighborhood of six seconds and a top speed of around 155 mph. Ford design boss Martin Smith has said they've spent a considerable amount of time over the past year designing the coupe and it will continue with the automaker's One Ford global design strategy. It'll be pitted up against the VW Scirocco in Europe and the Golf GTI in the US if a production car is confirmed, which would most likely arrive sometime in 2012.
