Lego previews new additions to the 2024 Speed Champions Lineup.
Lego has previewed the cars lined up for its Lego Speed Champions next year. Petrolhead Lego fans will be treated to bricked versions of the Ford Mustang Dark Horse, Audi S1 e-tron Quattro, and two BMW M race cars.
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse Lego Speed Champions set comprises 344 pieces referencing the more performance-oriented road-going version of the S650 generation pony car. The production model uses a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote engine good for 500 horsepower - about a 20 hp bump over the Mustang GT.
The unique livery and extensive aero kits underscore the Audi S1 e-tron Quattro Lego Speed Champions. Coming with 274 pieces, the model is inspired by the Sport Quattro S1 rally icon from the '80s. However, seeing a Minifigure of the late Ken Block would have been great, considering the all-electric Audi S1 Hoonitron is a one-off exclusively developed for motorsport legend.
The EV racer had come full circle when Audi Sport handed the keys to Lia Block, daughter of Ken Block, continuing her father's legacy and making a name for herself in motorsports.
As for the two BMW race cars, Lego will roll out toy versions of the M Hybrid V8 and M4 GT3, which will come in one package with 676 pieces. Both racers will join the WEC grid next in their respective classes, with the M Hybrid V8 taking the fight to the Ferrari 499 and Toyota GR010 Hybrid at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Based on Lego's US website, the new additions won't be available until March 1, 2024. The Ford Mustang Dark Horse and Audi S1 e-tron Quattro will be offered for $26.99, while the two-car BMW package will be sold for $44.99.
The new Lego cars will join the likes of the Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R from the 2 Fast 2 Furious, the McLaren Solus GT, and Pagani Utopia in the Lego Speed Champions roster.
