Ford Performance Gives F-150 700 HP For $12,000

Raptor R power at a fraction of the price makes the FP700 a modern-day SVT Lightning.

Pickup truck buyers who want to go fast can now get 700 horsepower in their 2023 Ford F-150 without spending over 100 grand on a Raptor R. The new FP700 Package from Ford Performance will take any 2021-2023 F-150 with the 5.0-liter V8 engine and bolt on a 3.0-liter Whipple Supercharger. The blower will boost the V8 from 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque up to 700 hp and 590 lb-ft. That's nearly the same output as the Predator V8 in the Raptor R but without any of the off-road upgrades., making this a spiritual successor to the original SVT Lightning.

Ford Performance doesn't just cram in 300 extra horses and call it a day; there are two FP700 Packages available that improve the exterior styling to go along with the added performance. The Bronze Edition adds 22-inch sinister bronze wheels, bronze accents, and Ford Performance bedside graphics, while the Black Edition includes the same details finished in black. Those 22-inch wheels look suspiciously close to the Expedition Stealth Edition, which is in no way a bad thing.

Since these packages are designed and sold by Ford Performance, they are CARB certified 50-state legal and come with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty when installed by a Ford dealer or licensed shop.

We also love how the FP700 Package offers more flexibility than a Raptor. Customers can add either kit to XL, XLT, Lariat, or Platinum F-150s so long as they have the 5.0-liter V8.

The package can be installed with 4x2 or 4x4 on a Regular Cab, SuperCab, or SuperCrew with the 5.5-foot or 6.5-foot bed. Ford recommends owners add the Sport Appearance Package and says the packages can not be combined with the eight-foot bed or Pro Power OnBoard.

Other features of the package include Ford Performance carpeted floor mats, Ford Performance fender vents, a black lug nut kit, black painted grille, FP700 interior badge, and a rear lowering kit. Additional accessories are available for further customization.

Both versions of the FP700 kit are available for $12,350, meaning they are far more attainable than a Raptor R, which starts at $109,250. It would only cost $37,925 to buy an XL Regular Cab with the V8 engine, meaning it's possible to order a 700-hp F-150 for as little as $50,275. The price would go up to nearly $80,000 for a Platinum Super Crew, which is still a significant discount compared to a Raptor R.
