The Ford Ranger Raptor hasn't even been around for a month, and already Hennessey has announced a new cosmetic and tuning package for the truck. It's called the VelociRaptor 500 Ranger and packs 500 horsepower and an even more impressive 550 lb-ft of torque. These are impressive gains over the stock truck's 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.

The upgrade is based on the previously released VelociRaptor 500 Bronco, which only entered production a month ago. That's likely why Hennessey brought the Ranger Raptor upgrade to the market so quickly. The Braptor and Ranger use the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, so the development work has already been done.

The upgrade for the Ranger costs $24,950 on top of the price of a base Ranger Raptor.

"The VelociRaptor 500 Ranger is an excellent choice for the pickup enthusiast who doesn't need the capacity of our full-size VelociRaptor 600 F-150. The midsize pickup is incredibly capable and very agile," says John Hennessey, founder and CEO. "It's actually lighter than the Bronco SUV. In addition, our 500-horsepower upgrade will noticeably improve low-end torque, and it's got a lot more power for those who like to really push their trucks in mud, sand, or on the open road."

To extract the extra power out of the engine, the engineers fitted a new high-flow air induction system, a larger front-mounted intercooler and uploaded a new engine management software. The vehicle retains its 10-speed automatic transmission and part-time four-wheel-drive setup that features locking front and rear differentials and low range.

These upgrades build nicely upon the truck's already stellar off-road capability thanks to features like Fox's 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shocks and the well-known G.O.A.T. driving modes.

The rest of the package is cosmetic, with Hennessey transforming the exterior with custom bumpers, LED off-road lights, unique Hennessey 18-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch tires, and 'VelociRaptor 500' badging. You'll find new embroidered head restraints, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plate inside.

The package has a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and can be ordered through authorized Ford dealers. Only 200 will be made in 2024, so anyone who opts for the package will be a part of a pretty elite club. If the F-150 Raptor is more your style, the company has you covered with the VelociRaptor 600.
