This Ford Ranger is doing its part to keep the patined look alive, with a recent collaboration between Ford and Aussie lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina for the Swank Rally Brazil. The lifestyle brand has made a bit of a name for itself by selling custom motorcycles, hence the rally. Ford and Swank worked to create a wrap for the Ranger, so don't worry, this nearly factory-fresh car hasn't actually been left to rust.

The truck itself will be on display at the upcoming rally, which is an off-road race that pits both modern and vintage bikes against each other across some incredibly harsh Brazilian terrain.

"Partnering with Deus Ex Machina is part of Ford's positioning as a premium off-road brand, connecting with a new audience of enthusiasts who are active, looking for more challenges, achievements and exclusive experiences. The Swank Rally is a different event and is part of a series of other actions that we have scheduled for 2023," says Fabrizzia Borsari, Ford Marketing Communication manager.

Ford nicknamed the one-off Ranger "Rusty Blue." We'll leave it to you to figure out why. However, the livery isn't the only set of changes made to the Ranger, which appears to be based on the Ranger Wildtrak trim, a trim for the truck not dissimilar to the Bronco Wildtrak we get Stateside.

Changes include new roll bars in the bed, a roof rack, upgraded BFG T/A tires, and some integrated fog lights up front.

"We are talking about two brands that have a lot of synergy. For some time, Deus Ex Machina has been thinking about building something with Ford, because both are action brands, and being able to do that here in Brazil is incredible. This grandiose event and the customization of the Ranger marked the beginning of this partnership," said Cris Almeida, head of marketing at Deus Ex Machina.

The rally itself is held on a custom track located on a farm, but in previous years, venues have included a beach, an airstrip, and even on ice.
