Ford Performance just unveiled the 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang at SEMA 2015 and the drag racer looks incredible. Similar to its predecessors, the Cobra Jet is a track car that's legal for drag racing competition right out of the box. The Cobra Jet motor is comprised of 75 percent production parts from the Ford Mustang GT, but has a Whipple supercharger that aids the car in being able to complete the quarter mile in the eight-second range. In addition to the supercharger, the Cobra Jet has other drag racing components that'll help it do battle against the new COPO Camaro.

There are drag racing coil-over shocks and springs, lightweight racing brakes, an 8.50-certified roll cage, an Aeromotive fuel system with trunk-mounted fuel cell, Corbeau FIA seats, five-point race harnesses and a race-prepped automotive transmission.

No power or performance figures were provided but pricing for the Cobra Jet starts at $99,99. The popular graphics option costs $1,995 and the wheelie bar adds $1,995. Only 50 units will be made-25 examples in Oxford White or Deep Impact Blue.
