It's pretty rare for PR teams to use a swear, unless of course you've crashed the press car. Then an obscenity of some manner is well-warranted. Ford literally said "winter be damned" and has unveiled optional snow tires for the first time on a factory car. You can now hoon your 350-horsepower hothatch in the snow without having to worry (too much). The 18-inch aluminum wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 snow tires comes in as a $1,995 option. That's a damned good deal we think.

Tested in Northern Michigan and Sweden, the the 225/40R18 tires work hand in hand with the Focus RS' all-wheel-drive system. The wheels are finished in silver in a bid to hide salt spray over the traditional black finish. The winter tire package comes standard on all models in Canada for "spirited driving even in the snow." The Focus RS hits dealers this spring so even those facing "snowmageddon" have no excuse to not go out for a winter wonderland hoon session.
