The third-generation "Fox-body" Ford Mustang is one of the most popular and most enduring versions of Ford's pony car. Built on Ford's Fox-body platform, the third-generation Mustang's smaller design was a radical departure from its predecessors, but this didn't harm sales.

Ford sold 2.6 million of them between 1979 and 1993, making the Fox-body Mustang a very common sight on American roads at the time. And with low prices on the used market, a new generation of buyers are starting to discover the Fox-body Mustang. Some owners might also want to restore their third-generation Mustang to its former glory since it's been out of production for nearly 30 years.

To help owners complete their classic Mustang restoration project and add the perfect finishing touch, Ford is selling original window stickers for the 1987-1989 Ford Mustang that can be reprinted complete with period-correct fonts and colors. Even the size of the sticker is authentic to make your Fox-body Mustang look fresh from the dealer's lot.

To access the original window sticker, all you need to do is visit the Ford Show Parts website and enter your Mustang's VIN number. Each reprinted window sticker costs $59.99 plus $10.00 shipping and handling, bringing the total to $69.99.

Orders will take four-six weeks to ship, although Ford currently isn't shipping orders until April 13 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Ford also notes that some window stickers may not be available, so make sure you enter the correct VIN.

For the 1987 model year, the Fox-body Mustang was given a refresh including suspension upgrades and styling changes, while the 5.0-liter V8 was increased to 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. This is the first time Ford has offered to reprint window stickers for model years before 2007, but the Blue Oval automaker could potentially expand this service to other retro models or Fox-body Mustangs for other model years.
