When it first premiered at the LA Auto Show last November, Ford declined to announce the exact power output of its new Shelby GT350 Mustang. And only now are we hearing a more precise figure. According to the Mustang6G forum, Shelby brand manager Jim Owens revealed the car's new naturally aspirated 5.2-liter flat-plane crankshaft V8 will produce just over 520 hp and have a redline of 8,250 RPM. As we've already reported, additional sources also claimed that pricing will start at $52,995.

We know, that's one of hell of a bargain, but there might be a catch: we still don't know how many units Ford plans to build. If you're really desperate to own one, you'd better head down to your local Ford dealership fast and put down a deposit. Owens also said the Shelby GT350 Mustang will arrive in dealers "earlier in the fourth quarter" of this year. He also added that Ford hasn't "divulged the model year yet and there is a reason for that."
