We are living in the golden age of the pickup trunk: there's more power, features safety and capability on offer than ever before, and manufacturers are basically giving them away. As the battle for sales in the full-sized truck market intensifies, Ford has decided to stop the competition in their tracks by offering major discounts across its F-Series pickup truck range. This comes after GM announced the launch of its all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, as well as the FCA's new Ram 1500. Both brands are offering some serious discounts, which means that consumers are smiling all the way to the dealerships.

The generous discount announced by Ford comes hot off the release of the latest sales figures for the F-Series pickup truck and the statistics don't look good: sales of the popular truck declined by just over 1 percent in the second quarter of 2019, which meant that Ford still managed to sell 233,787 units. The push for growth sees Ford offering discounts of almost $9,000 on certain trucks, which means that there's no better time than now to get yourself that new F-Series.

New discount deals for September can be broken up into the following offers:

The F-150 XLT (with 302A package) gets a $6,500 cash back as well as a $1,500 trade assist deal plus a $750 Ford credit bonus cash deal for a total saving of $8,750.

The F-150 XL & XLT without the 302a package doesn't get the same love, but Ford still offers a $3,000 Bonus Cash, $1,500 trade assist, a $750 credit bonus and 1.9 percent APR for 60 months which totals a saving of $3,750.

The Lariat, Limited and Platinum are offered with a $2,000 F-series cash incentive, and a $750 retail bonus for a total saving of $2,750

Eligible first responders will also get a $1,000 cash discount, and the above-mentioned discounts will not be available on diesel, Raptor, F-650 or F-750 models. These discounts will run through to 30 September.
