Ford's Australian division has just released a teaser illustration of their upcoming 2011 Territory crossover. Although it's not scheduled to be launched for another six months, Ford Australia is hoping to gear up some hype for what they hope will become a sales success. The current Territory, first launched in 2004, is based on the Aussie-only Falcon sedan and has received a few updates in its lifetime.
The new model will benefit from the current Falcon's platform along with fresh interior and exterior styling, a number of technology upgrades, and the introduction of a turbo-diesel engine, which will be 2.7-liter V6 that's been co-developed with Peugeot-Citroen PSA. Another possible engine option will be Ford's new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost, which is already set to be available in the Falcon. In addition to this teaser image, Ford Australia is also stating that in the next 18 months, approximately 85 percent of their entire lineup will be either replaced or updated.
Some of these new models include the upcoming global Focus and the Aussie-designed Ranger pickup. Sadly, the Ranger will not be offered in North America.
