Based on the street legal Boss 302, Ford has revealed their third competition car that's to be sold through Ford Racing dealers. According to Mark Wilson, Engineering Manager for Ford Racing: "Enthusiasts who purchase the Boss 302S will be competitive in both the World Challenge GTS and NASA American Iron Series." The car was developed by Ford Racing engineers and boasts a 440 hp 5.0-liter V8 mated to a six-speed manual.

Power is channeled to the rear wheels via a T2 Torsen differential and the suspension has been strengthened with two-way adjustable coil-over dampers and Ford Racing anti-rolls bars. 4-piston Brembo brakes come standard. The car also comes with an aero kit that includes a heat extracting fiberglass bonnet, adjustable front splitter and an enormous carbon fiber rear wing. Each car will also come with a graphics package that tributes the original 1969 Boss 302. The interior is stripped of pretty much everything and now consists of a roll cage, race seats with 6-point belts, and a quick release steering wheel.

It will be built at Ford's Flat Rock plant in Michigan, and will carry an MSRP of $79,000 when it goes on sale in early 2011.
