Ford offers European drivers some pretty awesome MPVs, the S-Max chief amongst them. After seven years on the market, the carmaker has deemed it necessary to replace the sporty SUV and the concept variant has been unveiled ahead of its public debut at Frankfurt next month. Premium brand buyers are especially fond of the svelte people carrier, and the new concept's theme of 'modern luxury' reflects that. Polished metal interior trim combines with silk carpeting in a cabin that features four deluxe seats.

A fifth center seat can be folded flat into the floor so passengers can enjoy the space of a walk-through cabin. And if the excitement gets too much for them, the Ford Sync system is on hand to monitor occupants' heart-rates and glucose via sensors in the well-appointed seats. Power comes from a 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-pot, an evolution of the award-winning 1.0-liter unit.
