The Ford Mustang EcoBoost is a seriously underrated sports car, and we think that in some ways, it's even better than the V8 version. Whichever you prefer, you can be sure that Ford will release a new special edition or a new package for the coupe every couple of months. Most recently, we've seen the EcoBoost model receive the Stealth Appearance Package and the Ice White Edition, and now there's yet another for buyers to choose from.

A new package, called the Coastal Limited Package, is coming for the upcoming model year, although this is yet to be officially confirmed. As with so many other appearance packages before it, this one will be available on the Premium trim only.

It features a set of 19-inch aluminum wheels with machined faces and a Tarnished Dark paint finish, while the door sills get an illuminated Coastal Limited trim plate and the unique front grille gets painted to match the body. Other visual enhancements include side scoops, a pedestal rear spoiler, and unique stripes. However, you can't just fit this to any Mustang EcoBoost Premium, as various other packages cannot be specced in conjunction with this one. These include the 2.3L High Performance Package, the EcoBoost Handling Package, the Black Accent Package, the Wheel & Stripe Package, the Stealth Package, and the Ice White Appearance Package. You also can't have the "Over the Top" racing stripe or the option of a spoiler delete.

Unfortunately, we don't have any images of the new appearance package as it is still just a rumor at this point, but it is reported that this new offering could be a replacement for the outgoing Pony Package that will be discontinued for 2022. Naturally, we don't have pricing for it either, but one thing is for sure - Ford is milking the hell out of the S550 generation of the Mustang and will likely keep releasing so-called special editions and appearance packages right until the 2023 Mustang arrives with loads of changes. Expect to see a First Edition or a Launch Edition model become available when that arrives.
