After growing accustomed to seeing supercars turned into police cruisers in places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and even Italy, it seems the UK police is getting ready to speed into action as well. With new Ariel Atom police cars delivered to departments in Avon and Somerset in southern England, local police could be armed with the quickest patrol car we've ever reported. But thankfully for local motorists with a need for speed, these cars were actually donated by the manufacturer for different purposes.

The Ariel Atom police cars were donated to these police departments in order to promote motorcycle safety, ahead of the company's upcoming two-wheeler. Company boss, Simon Sauders, told Auto Express that like the Ariel Atom, motorcycles are best enjoyed on a closed track: "There's always one certain loser in a motorcycle collision and that's the motorcyclist."
