Forza Motorsport 7 has been a lot of fun, and with the enhanced graphics offered by the Xbox Series X, it's better than ever. This is a game that allows you to experience racing without the massive expense and is detailed enough to be very enjoyable, but not so realistic that those of us with regular driving skills can't enjoy it. If it's still too technical for you, Forza Horizon 4 is a great alternative, featuring arcade-like driving dynamics and a similar amazing roster of cars that includes the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. That game is about to be replaced by Horizon 5, but Motorsport 7 has been around since 2017 and is still with us. That's about to change though.

Yesterday, Microsoft announced that Forza Motorsport 7 is about to reach End of Life status, meaning that it will no longer be available for purchase on the Microsoft Store, nor will you be able to buy it through Xbox Game Pass after September 15. But don't fret if you've only just gotten into the game - those who already own the game can still download and play it as normal, with all features still available. These include multiplayer and other online services and Rivals esports events will also continue to be hosted. Players who own DLC (downloadable content) for the game but play it via Game Pass will also still retain access to the game.

Microsoft explained how this will work in a statement, part of which reads as follows:

"For any Xbox Game Pass players who previously purchased DLC for the game, but not the game itself, we have good news! You will receive a token for the game through the Xbox Message Center so that you can continue playing Forza Motorsport 7. Token distribution will be through August 2. However, if after that date you have not received your token, please contact Xbox Support here. (Unused tokens will expire on September 15, 2023.)"

Microsoft has also said that, in its last days, a discount for the game is available on the Microsoft Store through September 15. The game's replacement, simply called Forza Motorsport, still has no official release date.
