Frankfurt Awaits Arrival of Irmscher's Opel Astra GTC

2011 Frankfurt Auto Show

German tuner Irmscher teases their version of the Opel Astra GTC ahead of next month's Frankfurt Auto Show.

Less than a month before the Frankfurt Motor Show, German tuner Irmscher is preparing to unveil their latest project for the Opel Astra GTC. They've been testing their tuned version, which features 40hp more than the standard GTC. They've also added a new front grille, aerodynamic kit, lowered suspension system and 21-inch wheels to round out the exterior changes. Its 1.6-liter turbocharged engine will now deliver 220hp and 202 lb-ft of torque, an increase from 180hp and 170 lb-ft.

In addition to the power upgrades, Irmscher offers a 30mm suspension lowering system to provide for better and smoother handling. Irmscher has also given the interior an aesthetic upgrade by fitting the GTC with fine leather upholstery and aluminum pedals. The rest of the details will have to wait until Frankfurt.
